Insurance

Insured for the life you are actually living.

Your policies were written for a life in one country, and most of them quietly stop at the border. Health, property, travel, and liability each need an answer for the move, and the gaps only show themselves when something goes wrong. Line them up before you fly and they never do.

How Nomad helps with insurance

Every policy checked, no gap on landing day.

The visa's coverage requirement is met before filing.

Where your route requires proof of health cover, the qualifying policy goes in your plan ahead of the application, which means the filing never bounces over a certificate you did not know you needed.

Home policies get an exit date too.

Car, home, and health policies you leave behind get cancelled or converted on the right day, which means you stop paying for cover you cannot use without ever creating a gap you did not mean to.

The in-between weeks are covered.

A travel layer bridges the stretch between leaving home coverage and your new policy taking over, which means the one unlucky week of the move is a story later, not a bill.

Is travel insurance enough for a move abroad?

No. Travel policies are built for trips: they cover emergencies and cut off at a maximum duration. A move needs expat health cover for the long run, with travel cover bridging only the in-between weeks. Using the wrong one is the most common gap.

What happens to my US policies when I leave?

Each needs a decision: car and home policies usually end with the car and the home, health cover rarely follows you, and some life policies travel fine. The plan walks every policy to a keep, convert, or cancel decision with a date on it.

What insurance does my visa actually require?

Many long-stay visas require health coverage with specific minimums, valid from your entry date, and the consulate wants the certificate in the application pack. Your plan surfaces the requirement for your route before the filing week, so it is never the holdup.
