I built Nomad because I lived the wall.

I have spent time in around fifty countries. Enough to know the difference between visiting a place and actually living there, and enough to watch smart, capable people talk about moving abroad for years without ever going. It is almost never for lack of wanting. The want is the easy part. What stops them is the wall: which visa, what income you have to prove, how your taxes work in two countries at once, when to give notice on the lease, what breaks the day your home address disappears.

Our own move took about six months and cost around $15,000, and the part that kept me up at night was not a visa form. It was Oliver. Working out how to get our dog to another country comfortably, the crate rules, the vet paperwork, the flight routing that would not put him through a rough day, turned into its own project on top of everything else. Nobody warns you that the hardest part of your move might have four legs.

That wall is where the dream quietly dies. Not in a decision, but in a hundred small unknowns that never get answered in the right order. Christina and I hit every part of it on our own move, and I build products for a living, so we did the obvious thing: we turned the mess into a system. The order of operations, the real numbers, the dependencies between steps, all of it.

Nomad is that system, made for you. You answer a few questions and you get a plan that is yours: your visa route, your income floor, your timeline with real dates, and every fee totaled before you commit to anything. The point is not to convince you to go. You already want to. The point is to take the wall down so the wanting has somewhere to go.

I still run other companies, and I still travel. Nomad is the thing we wish had existed the week we decided to leave. If you have been saying you will do it and you never quite do, that sentence is the one we built this for.
